Woodridge Secures $1.76M in Grant Funds
The money will fund six capital projects that will be completed in Woodridge from 2012 to 2015.

The has secured $1.76 million in grant money for multiple capital projects.
The village announced Monday it will receive money from the Surface Transportation Program, Community Development Block Grants, Illinois highway High Priority Projects Grant and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
With this money, the following projects will be completed in 2012:

- Resurfacing of Woodward Avenue from Boughton Road to the I-55 bridge
- Patching Internationale Parkway from Beaudin Boulevard to Woodward Avenue
- Traffic signal improvements and interconnect at the intersections of Janes Avenue and Plaza Drive and Janes Avenue and 71st Street
- Resurfacing of Forest Glen Parkway, (Woodridge to Larchwood), Apache Lane, Birchwood Parkway and Valley View Lane
In 2013, Center Drive will be resurfaced from Woodridge Drive to Janes Avenue.
Then in 2014-2015, the village will complete the rehabilitation of the 71st Street bridge deck over I-355.

The total cost of these projects is $2.34 million. That means 75 percent of them will be funded with the grant money the village has secured.
