Acceptable Items: White Goods/Bulk Items Amnesty Week

White Goods/Bulk Items Amnesty Week is Oct. 15 through 19. Here's what you can and can't put curbside.

YORKVILLE, IL — October 15 through 19 is White Goods/Bulk Items Amnesty Week in Yorkille. The United City of Yorkville said during your normal garbage day next week, you may put an unlimited amount of white goods and bulk items out for collection for no extra charge. Because only one round will be made by Advanced Disposal, all white goods/bulk items must be on the curb by 6 a.m. on your regular garbage day, city officials said.

Acceptable white good items include refrigerators/freezers, dishwashers, water softeners, clothes dryers, air conditioners and more. However, any white goods items containing PCBs will not be collected.

Acceptable bulk items include bookcases, carpet rolls cut into 4-foot length sections, weighing less than 50 pounds each, mattresses, box springs and more.

City officials said chemicals, decks, auto parts, large construction waste, and paints are among the list of items that won't be accepted.
