Officials stress they will never request passwords by email and urge people to verify senders, avoid suspicious links or attachments, and review state-recommended tips for staying safe online.
   

• Plano still fighting after 0-3 start, Yorkville leans on front seven: Kendall County football notebook (shawlocal.com) — Yorkville football's strong defensive front has helped the Foxes open 2-1 in the Southwest Prairie West, with linebackers and linemen leading the way. Services for Renee, an 85-year-old retired respiratory therapist and active Aledo church member, will be held September 12 at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo, with memorials suggested to Aledo United Methodist Church.
