Sheriff's Third K9 Team Finishes Training

Kendall County Sheriff's police issued the following press release:

Deputy Timothy Decamp has just completed an intense fourteen week training course at the Allen County Indiana Sheriff's Department. His canine partner, Luke, a one and a half year old German Shepherd, completed the course with him and they are certified through the International Work Dog Association for both Police Service and Narcotics Detection. Deputy Decamp is a thirteen year veteran of the Kendall County Sheriff's Office.

Kendall County Sheriff's Office has two other K-9 teams at this time. They are Deputy Jason Flanders, a 12 year veteran of the Kendall Country Sheriff's Office who was also trained at the Allen County Indiana Sheriff's Department in 2009 with his partner Taz, a three year old German Shepherd.

Deputy Gregory Shadle, an 11 year veteran of the Kendall County Sheriff's Office was trained at the Landheim Police K-9 Academy in Dyer, Indiana in 2007 with his partner Ari, a six year old German Shepherd.

All three dogs are trained in narcotic detection for both vehicular and residential searches. They are trained for tracking fleeing criminals and lost persons. These dogs are used for area and article searching along with evidence recovery. And finally these dogs are trained for handler and officer protection.
