Bicyclist Hit By Yorkville Police Car: Sheriff
The woman entered the intersection just as the squad car began turning right after stopping at a red light, according to KCSA officials.
YORKVILLE, IL — A woman biking west on a Route 34 bike path Wednesday afternoon was hit by a Yorkville Police Department squad car, officials said.
At the request of YPD, the Kendall County Sheriff's Department opened an investigation into the crash that happened around 2:32 p.m. near the intersection of Route 34 and Game Farm Road. Officials said it appears the woman entered the intersection just as the squad car began turning right after stopping at a red light.
The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The police officer was not injured, officials said.

"This remains an active investigation and the issuance of any potential citations will be determined at the conclusion of the investigation," officials at the sheriff's office said.
