Bullet Hits School: Police Seek To Identify 2 People

A bullet struck a window and a door at Grande Reserve Elementary.

YORKVILLE, IL — Yorkville police are asking for the public's help identifying a man and juvenile seen on the property of Grande Reserve Elementary School the same night that a bullet struck the side of the building, damaging a window and a door. A custodian, who was not injured, was the only person in the building at the time of the incident, at about 11:13 p.m. Monday.

Police said an investigation revealed that, just prior to the shooting, a white adult male and a white juvenile male were seen walking on school property. "Although there is no evidence to suggest that these individuals were involved in the shooting, the Yorkville Police Department is requesting assistance from the public in identifying them," police said.
