Capture the Beauty of Yorkville in City Contest

Capture Yorkville’s beautiful environment, architecture and vibrant community life. Amateur and professional photographers are invited to enter their best images in a contest being held by the city.

Yorkville is looking for photos taken at all times of the year. All entries are eligible to be featured in citywide publication of print and electronic media.

Entries must be submitted by Tuesday, Jan. 26. Category winners will be announced by Friday, Feb. 12.

Contest entries will ​be judged on overall quality, creativity and how well the photograph portrays Yorkville.

Submit the entry form and include a photo release form in order to enter.

Contest Information and Rules:

Eligibility: Contest is free to enter and open to anyone.

Categories:

Category 1: Life in Yorkville
Photos should reflect what you do or see everyday – photo examples include special events or community celebrations, sports, parades, people taking a walk, children playing, raking leaves, City crews at work, street scenes, having fun, or work.

Category 2: Places in Yorkville
Photo examples include Yorkville’s neighborhoods, businesses, streets, parks, trails and green spaces, etc. etc.

Category 3: People of Yorkville
Photos should reflect the wide range and diversity of individuals and families, who live, work and play in Yorkville.

How to Enter:

• A separate entry form must accompany each submission. Entry forms are available online here.
• A Photo Release Form must also be included with each submission. Note that in order for the photo release form to save the information you type, you must first save the document to your computer, then fill out the form and save the document again.

Entry and Submission Requirements:

• Entries must be submitted through the online submission form
• Only full-color images without watermarks or writing will be accepted
• Up to 5 photos may be submitted per entrant.
• All entries must be the original work of the submitting photographer
• Images must be photographed within Yorkville city limits
• Photos shall not be more than two years old.

Permission:

• All submissions become the property of the United City of Yorkville and are not returned.
• All photos may be used in City publications online and in-print, advertising, and marketing materials.
• City may use photos with or without name of photographer.

Deadline: All entries must be received no later than Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 4 p.m.
