Child Leaves Home, Ends Up At Local Business : Yorkville Police

Yorkville crime reports also include a battery incident involving four juveniles.

YORKVILLE, IL —

Tuesday, Aug. 28

Child endangerment

Yorkville police said a 9-year-old child left a home during the early morning hours and was located at a business at 5:10 a.m., Aug. 28 in the 1400 block of N. Bridge Street by Kendall County Sheriff's Deputies. Police said the child's mother was found a short time later and reunited with her daughter, and DCFS was notified of the incident, which police reported as endangering the life of a child.

Several driving citations

Yorkville police said at 3:50 p.m., Aug. 28 Tracy R. Hendricks, 45, of the 4500 block of Garritano Street, was driving a 2003 Suzuki Volusia southbound on Bridge Street at Route 47 when the traffic ahead suddenly stopped and she attempted to do so, but ran into a 2013 Kia Optima, driven by Mary C. Robertson, 36, of the 200 block of Bertram Drive. Hendricks' vehicle was towed from the scene and police said she was taken into custody for driving on a suspended license. Police said Hendricks was issued four citations, including following too closely. Her court date is scheduled for Oct. 3.

Theft over $500

In an Aug. 28 Yorkville Police Department report, police said they responded to a report of theft in the 2100 block of Henning Lane. According to police, the victim said she left her $1950 Louis Vuitton purse in her vehicle and it was taken from the vehicle by a person she believed moved of the home home. However, the incident date is not the same as the reported date.

Monday, Aug. 27

Contempt of court

Kendall County Sheriff's Office said Rachel B. Stanley, of the 0-99 block of Highview Drive, was sentenced on Aug. 27 for a contempt of court charge.

Sunday, Aug. 26

Juvenile battery

Yorkville police said two male juveniles exited a vehicle and punched and kicked two other juveniles at 3 p.m., Aug. 26 before leaving the scene in the 1200 block of N. Bridge Street before officers arrived. Police said paramedics examined the two victims who didn't need to be taken to the hospital. The case is under investigation.

Criminal damage to property

Yorkville police said a female in the 300 block of E. Park Street called police just after 10:15 a.m., Aug. 26 after finding a plastic piece from a city park rock climbing wall in her yard. She walked to the park and located where the piece was broken off and called police.

Leaving the scene of an accident

The Kendall County Sheriff's Office said Scott R. English, 39, of 152 E. Bertram Drive was charged with leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and driving on a suspended or revoked license on Aug. 26.
