Construction Employee Reports Battery Incident: Yorkville Police
Yorkville police and the Kendall Co. Sheriff's Office report recent, local crime in the area.

YORKVILLE, IL —
Saturday, Oct. 20
Driving while license revoked, driving without BAIID device
Yorkville police said Elizabeth Schwartz, of Royal Oaks Drive, Bristol, was driving a 2014 Dodge Charger westbound on Route 126 and Route 47 at 12:35 p.m., Oct 20 when the front bumper of the SUV hit the rear bumper of a slowing down 2016 Chevrolet Malibu being driven by Maureen M. Franzen, of Blue Bird Lane, Yorkville. Police said Schwartz fled the scene in the SUV, but was later found and given a citation for following too closely, leaving the scene of an accident, and was charged with driving while license revoked and driving a vehicle without a BAIID device. Franzen's rear bumper was dented, in addition to Schwartz' front bumper.

Battery
Yorkville police said they're investigating after a battery incident at 4:28 p.m., Oct. 20 at 1954 Rena Lane. Police said a female victim was working construction when she saw a male who wasn't an employee carrying boxes of shower parts, and confronted him. Police said the man pushed the woman causing her to take a step backward. He returned the parts and ran away.

Hit and run
Police said an unknown vehicle hit the front bumper of a 2001 Toyota Corolla parked in the parking lot of the 1600 block of North Beecher Road at 6:24 p.m., Oct. 20. Police said moderate damage was caused to the parked vehicle and the unknown vehicle left the scene of the crash.
Friday, Oct. 19
Aggravated battery
The Kendall County Sheriff's Office said Michael S. Corcoran, 49, of the 8040 block of Emmon Road, Yorkville, was sentenced as a weekender on an adult felony charge on Oct. 19. Police said Corcoran was charged with aggravated battery Friday.
Aggravated battery
The sheriff's office said 40-year-old Chris Wray Whisenant, of the 1400 block of Cottonwood Trail, Yorkville, was sentenced as a weekender Oct. 19 for aggravated battery charges stemming from a Sept. 22, 2018 incident. Police said Whisenant was charged on Sept. 22 with aggravated battery of a victim 60 years of age or older and aggravated battery in a public way.
Thursday, Oct. 18
Warrant arrest
The sheriff's office said 20-year-old Xavier Y. Ward, of the 1380 block of Orchid Street, Yorkville, was arrested on a warrant Oct. 18 for an adult misdemeanor charge. He was charged with in-state warrant offense.
Tuesday, Oct. 16
Theft
Yorkville police said a store manager at a business in the 300 block of Boombah Blvd. contacted police at 9:05 a.m., Oct. 16 to report that two drills were stolen over a five-day period for an unlocked work vehicle. The value of the stolen items are under $500.
Unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor
Yorkville police said officers conducted a traffic stop Oct. 16 at Route 47 and Elizabeth Street for a vehicle with one headlight. Police said a male juvenile was referred for unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor and was issued a traffic warning for one headlight.
