Dog Bites Yorkville Child, Causes Serious Injuries: Police
The dog was taken from its owner and placed under quarantine for observation after the Thursday morning incident, Yorkville police said.
YORKVILLE, IL — A Yorkville dog is being quarantined after biting and seriously injuring a child it lives with, police said.
Officers were dispatched at about 10:40 a.m. Thursday to a residence in the 300 block of Heustis Street in response to the bite. The dog bit the child without provocation, police were told.
A caregiver at the house received minor injuries while trying to separate the dog from the child, who was taken to Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora for treatment, officials said. The caregiver was also hospitalized, treated and released.

The dog was removed from the house and placed under quarantine for observation.
Police continue to investigate the incident.
