Dorothy Jean Finzer Hughes, 91, Passed After Long Struggle with Alzheimer's
A memorial service will be held for Dorothy Hughes at 6 p.m. on Friday, April. 5.

Dorothy Jean Finzer Hughes, 91 formerly of Yorkville, IL and Romulus, NY died on March 25, 2013 after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born on April 18, 1921 in Rochester, NY to Arthur and Emma (Koester) Finzer. She married Stuart R. Hughes on June 15, 1943 and they celebrated 52 years of marriage until his death in 1995.
Dorothy worked for many years as a secretary at the Yorkville National Bank. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Her greatest joys were her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends for her kindness, willingness to help others and her sense of humor.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Cindy Leifheit (John) Myers of Ovid, NY, Barb McCoy of Yorkville, IL, Judy Ellis of Seneca, SC, David (Rosina) Hughes of Mansfield, TX, Casey ( Debbie) Hughes of Yorkville, IL, Tom Hughes of Loves Park, IL; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Mathew) Shugrue, Jill (Caleb) Baer, Brandon Hughes, Bryan (Starla) Hughes, Sean (Jessie) Hughes, Ryan Hughes, Kevin Hughes, Rhianna Hughes and Megan Hughes; her seven great-grandchildren; and her sister Betty Conner of Rochester, NY.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Emma Finzer; her husband, Stuart Hughes; her sister, Mary Rogers; her grandson Josh Leifheit Myers; and her sons-in-law, Lynn Leifheit, John Ellis and Jay McCoy.

Friends and family are invited to visit from 6:00 PM until concluding with a Memorial Prayer Service at 8:00 PM on Friday, April 5, 2013 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 East Countryside Parkway in Yorkville, IL Interment will take place in Ovid, New York at a later date.
