Eleanor Carter, 84, was a Church Organist and Pianist

Eleanor Carter, age 84 of Montgomery, IL, formerly of Melvin, IL, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2013 at her home. She was born on January 19, 1929 in Elmhurst, IL, the daughter of John Richard and Harriet (Rockwell) Wilson.
Eleanor was united in marriage on November 29, 1952 to Mr. Bruce E. Carter and they spent the next 60 happy years together. She was a 1946 graduate of York Community High School in Elmhurst, IL.
Mrs. Carter was an active member of the Faith Baptist Church in Sandwich, IL. Throughout the years, she served as the church organist and pianist for many of the churches that she and her family attended. Eleanor was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Eleanor is survived by her husband, SFC Bruce Carter, U.S. Army (Retired) of Montgomery, IL; her children, Eileen (Dale) Andersen of Chandler, AZ, Alan (Jill) Carter of St. Charles, IL, Paul (Barb) Carter of Thawville, IL, Sandy (Bill) Mueller of Montgomery, IL, Linda (Darrell) White of Fort Worth, TX, and Steve (Cheri) Carter of Hampshire, IL; thirty grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and her sister, Marge Wilson, of Melvin, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Philip and David Carter, and one grandson, Grant Carter.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 22, 2013 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 East Countryside Parkway in Yorkville, IL with both Pastors Steve Rogers and Paul Thomason officiating. Interment will follow in the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
Friends may visit from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at the Funeral Home in Yorkville, IL.
