Evelyn G. Wallin, 99, was Very Active With Her Church

Evelyn G. Wallin, age 99 of Plainfield, IL passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL. She was born on May 25, 1913 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Erin and Mabel (Larsen) Carlson.

Evelyn was united in marriage to Mr. Charles Geistler, the father of her children until his passing in 1951. She was later united in marriage to Mr. Cecil Wallin and they spent many happy years together until his passing in 1964. Mrs. Wallin was a former member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Chicago, IL. Evelyn attended Helmar Lutheran Church in Yorkville, IL and was also very active in the Plattville Lutheran Church in Plattville, IL. She enjoyed traveling with her family. Evelyn was a loving mother, grandmother and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her sons, Thomas (Renee) Geistler of Newark, IL and Gary (Judy) Geistler of Plainfield, IL; her grandchildren, Gregory (Staci) Geistler of Newark, IL, Gwendolyn (Garrett) Carlyle of Newark, IL, Jennifer (Kevin) Hill of Plainfield, IL and Eric (Nicole) Geistler of Plainfield, IL; and ten great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death her parents; her husbands, Charles Geistler and Cecil Wallin; and three brothers, Russell, Marvin and Everett Carlson.
