Alexis Garcia, teacher, Yorkville Grade School, tended the apple pie

box during the night.

Val Rizio teacher and Emily Lech, Principal did an outstanding job

selling pies to customers throughout the night. The proceeds from their

sale of 138 pies went directly to benefit the students. Fifteen percent

of the proceeds from the McTeacher’s Night sales were donated directly

to the Yorkville Grade School PTO, which plans to use the money to help

pay for tablets and Chromebooks for the students.

Ed Schmitt, Owner- Operator of the Yorkville McDonald’s, and the Schmitt

Family were delighted to participate in the worthy cause for education

and the community.

“McTeacher’s Night is part of McDonald’s larger commitment to education

and other important initiatives supporting families and the local

community.” Schmitt said.

“We are proud to serve the families of the Yorkville community and

through the McTeacher’s Night event. In addition to help provide

financial support for our local schools, we help students feel connected

to their school, their teachers and their sense of community.”

Schmitt donated a case of apple pies to the school for sale at the

event. Inspired by the success of McTeacher’s Night, the Schmitt Family

has set their sights on partnering with other schools in the Yorkville area.

“Lech and everyone who rolled up their sleeves in support of this event”

are the fabric that strengthen our community.” Schmitt said.
