Harassing Messages, Retail Theft: Yorkville Blotter

Incidents occurred between May 2 and May 5.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.


May 2

Miranda L. Herbel, 21 of the 1700 block of Hidden Oaks Court in Plainfield, was charged with possession of paraphernalia. The incident occurred in the 100 block of W. Van Emmon Street.

Nicole Renee Carlin, 26, of the 300 block of Brookhaven Circle, was charged with possession of cannabis less than 2.5 grams. The incident occurred in the 100 block of W. Emmon Street.

May 3

A victim said she received contact from a female in various ways, including phone calls, text messages and social media that were of a harassing nature. Both parties eventually agreed not to contact one another anymore.

Austin G. Oidtman, 20, of the 3000 block of Kenilworth Lane in Montgomery, was charged with obstructing identification, unlawful possession of cannabis (less than 2.5 grams) and a warrant. The incident occurred in the 1000 block of Canyon Trail Ct.

May 5

Police took a report of retail theft from the Jewel located at 234 E. Veterans Parkway. Police say an unknown male entered the store took around $1,314.49 in medicine products. The male then fled on foot and was unable to be located.
