Jesus J. Gamboa, 72, Worked Many Years at the Sandwich Iron Foundry

Friends and family may visit on Monday, March 25 from 3 to 8 p.m. A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 26 at 10 a.m.

Jesus J. Gamboa, age 72, of Sandwich, IL, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on May 31, 1940 in Durango, Mexico, the son of Lucio and Margarita (Corral) Gamboa. 

Jesus was united in marriage on April 18, 1960 to the former Consuelo Resendez, and they spent the next 52 happy years of their lives together.  He was employed, for many years, by the Sandwich Iron Foundry in Sandwich, Illinois.  Jesus was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Consuelo Gamboa, of Sandwich, IL; his children, Azucena (Rick) Whitecotton, of Sandwich, IL, Grace (Edward Mathis) Gamboa, of Streamwood, IL, Ofelia (Tim) Dorsey, of Marana, AZ, Gabriel (Elena) Gamboa, of Oswego, IL, Connie Gamboa, of Sandwich, IL, and Dalia (John Stahl) Gamboa, of Phoenix, AZ; his 11 grandchildren; his 6 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Gerarda Cleyder, of Mexico, Zoila Alarcon, of CA, and Etelvina Chaidez, of CA; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucio and Margarita Gamboa; his sisters, Socorro Gamboa  and Cliseria Zuloaga; and his brothers, Lucio, Manuel and Roman Gamboa.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 1010 W South St., Plano, IL.  Interment will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich, IL.

Friends may visit from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, March 25, 2013 at the Funeral Home in Plano.
