Kendall County Sheriff Reminds Drivers To Lock Car Doors

"Please help protect yourself and your family and let's work together to make Kendall County a safer place," the office said.

YORKVILLE, IL — The Kendall County Sheriff's Office has issued an alert warning drivers to lock their doors. The office said vehicles should be locked at all times, and any suspicious activity should be reported. Valuables should not be left in vehicles, police said.

"Please help protect yourself and your family and let’s work together to make Kendall County a safer place," the office posted on its Facebook page.

Police offered the following tips to prevent crime in Kendall County:

• Lock your vehicle and remove the key fob.

• Do not leave valuables in your vehicle.

• Protect your identify and accounts by removing purses, wallets or checkbooks from your vehicle.

• Contact the Kendall County Sheriff’s office or your local Police Department to report any suspicious individuals or vehicles in your neighborhood.

The office also reminded residents that suspicious activity and thefts can be reported anonymously to the sheriff's office Crime Stoppers at (630) 553-5999.
