…a Safe Fitness Tip
Safety, safety, safety! Be smart…don’t do something that you know is overdoing it or has the potential to be dangerous. A good trainer or instructor will monitor you and guide you in choosing the correct weight and intensity, along with offering you modifications for any injury, illness, and limitations you may have.
I know it’s appealing to challenge yourself-and sometimes that’s a good thing-but, seriously, if you feel any pain or strain, just stop! Hurting yourself is a huge step backwards, you’ll be out of commission and most likely lose some of the progress you have made!!

I like to say that you can tell us “old” instructor/trainers because of our extreme concern for safety. Many of us began our fitness careers doing lots of high impact workouts, multiple times each week. I’ve had all kinds of quirky, mostly minor, injuries. I mean…who strains their erector spinae? Yeah... I did :)
And along that same line-don’t rush your return to working out when recovering from an injury! Go ahead and baby it until you are absolutely sure you are healed-you may further your injure yourself if you don’t. Working out should “hurt” in a good way. Ignore the “no pain, no gain”. Challenging yourself does not mean killing yourself :) It's supposed to be fun-haha!
