Tickets for Mother's Day weekend production now available.

Reserved seating tickets are available now for the Spring Musical production of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” The event will be presented on the Auditorium stage four times May 11-13.
Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, May 11; at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 12; and at 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 13.

Yorkville High School’s family-friendly spring musical will feature contemporary dress and set to reveal the story of this stage favorite inspired by the Biblical story of Joseph and his coat of many colors.

The musical features Joseph, a dreamer, his father Jacob, who favors him, and his 11 brothers who grow jealous of special attention paid to Joseph by Jacob. The brothers sell Joseph as a slave, but his dreams help him rise to become the most powerful man in Egypt before he meets his family again.
The roles of Joseph and Jacob will be played by Matt Weaver and Steven Yu. Three narrators who tell the story of Joseph will be played by Laurel Forlano, Lesley Shanks, and Alma Ramos. Other key characters include Pharoah (Dan Rega); Potiphar (Steven Yu); and Joseph’s brothers played by Matt Dabbs, Alex Dewane, Payton Gammicchia, Vince Pizzo, John Pletka, Terry Pletka, Matt Quanstrom, Tyler Riederer, Jake Smith, Ryan Smith, and Jake Teeling.
Additional cast members include: Jess Agama, Danielle Alicz, Bobby Allen, Amanda Armitage, Ryan Barkauskas, Will Belles, Zach Belles, Katie Caldwell, Noelle Daggett, Rob Delgado, Malia Dunn-Reier, Rachel Eaton, Emily Hanson, Isaiah Jackson, Meggie Kesselring, Summer Lara, Kaitlin Miller, Maddie Mormino, Wendy Myers, Katie Pasternak, Rachel Plasch, Rikiyah Pryor, Mason Ridenour, Sydney Seeman, Jenna Shanks, Monica Sleezer, Carly Teeling, Nick Terrell, Jessica Vacha, and Joyce Yu.
The production is directed by Ken Wayne, YHS chorus director. A children’s chorus composed of 4th, 5th and 6th graders from the Yorkville area will perform along with a YHS pit orchestra.

Music was written by Andrew Lloyd Weber; lyrics were composed by Tim Rice. The musical was first produced in 1973 and opened on Broadway in 1982. Actors such as David Cassidy and Donny Osmond have played the role of Joseph. The production earned Tony Award nominations including Best Musical and Best Original score in the 1980s.
