If you’re looking for a way to support your veterans, the Operation Welcome You Home Wounded Warrior 5K will provide that opportunity.
The 5K will begin at 8 a.m. sharp May 28. at Plainfield North High School, located at 12005 South 248th St. in Plainfield.
While the school parking lot can hold around 1,000 cars, past 5Ks have had more than 1,200 registrants so it’s encouraged to carpool.

Runners and walkers will be timed and awards will be given out. All registered runners and walkers will receive finishing medals, as well as swag bags.
A food court also will be available before and after the race for all registrants.

Register by April 15 to save $5. T-shirts will be guaranteed to those who register by April 30. Registration will be open until the day of the event.
