Rodeo, Horse Speed Show At Kendall County Fair

A look at some of the offerings at this year's fair.

YORKVILLE, IL — Put on your boots and favorite Western attire and head out Friday and Saturday, July 7 and 8 for the Fox Valley Pro Rodeo at the Kendall County Fairgrounds, 10826 State Route 71 in Yorkville. The event is at 7 p.m. rain or shine and gates open at 4 p.m.

Enjoy Big Hat World Championship Rodeo action with eight exciting events include Bareback Riding, Cowgirls Barrel Racing and rodeo’s most popular and dangerous event – bull riding. For those who come early there will be hilarious family friendly clowns, kids games, great local food and drinks. Kids under 4 and parking is free.

Advance tickets are available on the fair websitewww.kendallcountyfair.org, but you must purchase before July 6 to get the $2 price reduction. Kids are $8 on Friday and $10 on Saturday for advance sales. Adults are $10 and $13 in advance.

Saturday the local band Whiskey Romance will perform immediately following rodeo, from 9 p.m. to midnight. The band is included in the Saturday ticket price.

The Kendall County Fair in its 25th year at the Yorkville location and will host a NITHEA approved Horse Speed Show starting at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 3. There are 5 class levels offered: Exhibition rider any age; Youth rider 12 years and younger; Junior Rider 13-18 years of age; Open rider any age and 3-D Classes rider any age. Entries range from $4 to $15 and ages are set by Jan. 1, 2017. Sign up the date of the event at the fairgrounds, located at 71 and Highpoint Road, Yorkville.
