See Why Yorkville Junior Women’s Club Member Is A Community Leader
The nominee "works tirelessly to help the people in our community," one Yorkville Patch reader said.

YORKVILLE, IL — Without community leaders, Yorkville wouldn’t hum along nearly as smoothly as it does. We’d miss their contributions in big and small ways.
Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to recognize these often unsung community leaders and celebrate their contributions.
This submission comes from Dana Wood, a Yorkville reader who nominated Teresa Wedeen.

What does this community leader do?
Former, long-standing, club president and Operation Santa chairperson for 20-plus years. Chairperson of the spring and fall craft shows for 20-plus years.
Why do you believe the community leader should be recognized or honored?
Teresa works tirelessly to help the people in our community. She has been the Chairperson for Operation Santa for 20 years because she strongly believes in making sure that every child in our community has a special and memorable Christmas. She is constantly searching for new ways to fundraiser for the Yorkville Junior Women’s Club and has been the Chairperson for both a Fall and Spring Craft show for 20 years. The Craft shows generate the majority of the funding for our club and allow us to provide scholarships to local graduating Seniors. All remaining funds are used to support local charitable organizations, like the Kendall County Food Pantry, Mutual Ground, and more.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the community hero?
Teresa cares about helping others and volunteers a large majority of her time to planning and running events for our Community.
