Snow Shutdown: Local Weather-Related Closings

With a blizzard warning in effect until midnight, some area schools, churches, libraries and park districts were announcing closings.

So far, closings for Monday include:

• Oswego School District 308
• Yorkville School District 115
• Oswego Senior Center
• Plainfield School District 202
• Channahon School District 17
• Troy School District 30-C
• Plainfield Park District facilities
• Minooka School District 201
• Minooka Community High School District 111
• Joliet Catholic Academy
• Joliet Junior College (all campuses)
• Wilco Area Career Center

Emergency Closing Center: Chicago-Area School, Daycare, Businesses, Libraries

As of Sunday evening, snowfall totals were over a foot in some areas, according to the National Weather Service, which reported the following totals:

• Yorkville: 13.5”
• Romeoville: 11.6”
• Plainfield: 12.2”
• Joliet: 12”
