Yorkville Boy Wins Gold in Kickboxing Championship

Mason Bumba recently competed in Benidorm, Spain in the United States World Kickboxing Association in the Unified World Championships.

Mason competed in martial arts creative forms, traditional weapons, extreme weapons and kickboxing (point fighting). He competed in seven divisions and qualified for each division, making it to the medal rounds on the final day. That’s where he took home his seven gold medals.
Team USA brought 16 competitors to Spain to compete with more than 70 countries. Team USA brought home, as a whole, 64 gold medals, 22 silver and 11 bronze.

Mason is extremely dedicated to martial arts. He practices 5-6 days a week to perfect his basic skills along with his weapons, forms and point fighting. Mason travels all year long to compete in places like California, Florida, Washington D.C., Atlanta and many more. He also competed in Ireland at the Irish Open this past March and won one silver and two bronze medals.
