One of five houses featured on the Yorkville Garden Club’s 2016 Garden Walk has a backyard filled with surprises.

Barry and Deb Mohler have unique sculptures, a pergola, and a stone patio next to a pond in their private and charming yard. A variety of plants and a whimsical shed fill this relaxing backyard. This garden and four others can be viewed on Saturday, June 25.

The Garden Walk will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. rain or shine. Tickets are $10 each before the day of the walk and $12 the day of the walk.

The “Garden Junction Boutique” will feature gifts for purchase at two of the homes on the Walk. Select from affordable chic aprons for children, unique stepping stones, one-of- a-kind bird feeders, small stone planters with plants, and other affordable garden items.

This year’s raffle features a container with garden items donated by Winding Creek Nursery. These items can be paid for with cash or check only, please.

The Yorkville Garden Club was founded in February 1995 by a group of friends who shared a love of flowers and gardening. Members continue that love of flowers and gardening and strive to make a difference in the community.

The Yorkville Garden Club offers two annual scholarships, and the scholarship fund is supported solely through the Garden Walk held every two years. The Garden Club provides a monthly newsletter for members, enriching and informative programs, camaraderie with fellow garden enthusiasts, and the satisfaction of volunteering in the community.

The club meets on the first Thursday of every month February through November. Monthly meetings are held at 7 p.m. at 215 Hillcrest Ave., Yorkville, IL.

Prospective members are welcome at any meeting and are eligible to join our club at an annual membership fee of $20.
