Yorkville’s own Spirit All-Star Cheer teams swept the competition this past weekend in Wisconsin Dells.
Going head to head with 105 other teams, the All-Star cheer squads -- Pride, Passion, Inspire, Legacy and Envy -- were all awarded first place based on age and skill level.

The All-Stars took an early lead on the first day of the two-day competition. The pressure was on for the second day because scoring is valued much more on day two.
The Yorkville All-Star teams came through in the clutch and three teams, Passion, Inspire and Envy, came away with the highly sought after Grand Champion award, which puts them at the top of the entire group level in their class.

All teams now qualify with a paid Gold Bid for the next future national championships, which will be held in Orlando, FL, San Francisco, CA, and Atlanta, GA.
“A lot of hard work and effort by the teams went into this accomplishment, but the owner (Christy Abney), coaches and parents also need to be congratulated,” said team mom Leslye Welsh.
The Passion, Legacy and Envy squads will represent the local area this weekend in the Las Vegas Nationals.
