Yorkville Woman Drives Up Sidewalk, Hits Building

YORKVILLE, IL — A 25-year-old Yorkville woman was cited for improper lane usage after she drove up the sidewalk and hit a building Friday afternoon.

According to the Yorkville Police Department, the woman was traveling westbound on Van Emmon Street when she turned right on northbound Route 47 and left the roadway on the east side of Rt. 47. The woman's Dodge Durango drove up the sidewalk, stuck a concrete barrier, metal walking rail and the side of a building.

The Durango was towed from the scene. No injuries were reported.
