1. 17-year-old charged with murder in deadly Anderson nightclub shooting (wowo.com) — A 17-year-old from Noblesville has been charged with murder in the Sept. 6 shooting that killed 22-year-old Tomerious Smoots outside Sonny Ray's nightclub in Anderson. Local police, using surveillance video, say the teen fired the fatal shot, and Madison County prosecutors have filed murder and firearm charges as the case moves through local courts.
   

2. Gov. Braun assesses storm recovery efforts in Anderson (wowo.com) — Storm-hit Anderson neighborhoods received direct attention as Gov. Mike Braun toured flooded streets and met with Mayor Thomas Broderick and local leaders about recovery needs. Discussions focused on FEMA and state assistance, long-term rebuilding, and support for families and first responders working through cleanup and damage assessments across the city.

Man arrested after allegedly beating Anderson adult store worker with socket wrench during robbery (wthr.com) — An Anderson adult store worker was seriously injured in a brutal Sept. 9 attack and robbery on Mounds Road, and a 37-year-old suspect has now been arrested and charged. Police say he allegedly beat her with a socket wrench, sexually assaulted her, and stole cash and her phone before being identified from security footage and taken into custody the next night.

5. Yorktown Public Library finishes water mitigation, provides update on rebuilding process (wthr.com) — Yorktown Public Library remains closed for months of rebuilding after last month's flooding, but Anderson Public Library is stepping in by offering reciprocal cards so affected patrons can still access books and programs. Staff say water mitigation is done and reconstruction planning is underway, while regional libraries and supporters nationwide continue helping Yorktown recover its services.
