Investigators say a deer was involved and are still determining other factors, while authorities ask anyone who witnessed the collision to contact the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
   

• Consumer Protection & VITA Community Event (purdue.edu) — Bloomington residents can get free consumer protection education and VITA tax assistance at a collaborative event on October 1 at the downtown Bloomington Public Library. Experts from Purdue Extension, Indiana Legal Services, and IU Maurer School of Law will cover scams, debt collection, robocalls, and taxpayer rights, with limited one-on-one legal sessions available on a first-come basis.
