Indiana Republican Senate Candidates Debate In Indianapolis
GOP Senate candidates Braun, Messer and Rokita debate in Indianapolis: Details

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Candidates in Indiana's Republican U.S. Senate primary faced off against each other Tuesday night in what was a harsh debate. AP News reports U.S. Reps. Luke Messer, Todd Rokita and former state Rep. Mike Braun were at the downtown Indianapolis event, which was sponsored by the Indiana chapter of Americans for Prosperity and moderated by conservative WIBC radio commentator Tony Katz.
The candidates aimed to set themselves apart based on their styles instead of policies, as they have few major policy differences, AP News says, adding that Messer wanted to claim the position of the adult among the cadidates and a party uniter.
AP News says Rokita "went on the attack, portraying himself as a conservative iconoclast, intent on torching the GOP establishment," and Braun took on the businessman role, one who built a successful auto parts distribution empire.
