• 12 charged with $2 million cargo theft from Nike distribution center (truckersnews.com) — A Charlestown resident has been federally indicted alongside 11 others in a multi-year, $2 million cargo theft scheme involving Nike’s massive distribution center in Memphis. Prosecutors say the group relabeled and shipped stolen products nationwide, and all now face conspiracy charges over interstate transportation of stolen goods. 
• New Indiana solar plant opens, bringing 1,200 jobs to region (courier-journal.com) — A major new solar-cell plant has opened at River Ridge Commerce Center, the industrial park that spans both Charlestown and Jeffersonville and grew out of the former Army ammunition plant. The nearly $1 billion facility is expected to support about 1,200 jobs in Southern Indiana and further redevelop land near Charlestown State Park, positioning the area as a hub for advanced energy manufacturing.
