• Township fire protection fees rising again (wzbd.com) — Decatur’s Board of Works has approved another increase in fire protection fees for Root, Union, St. Marys, and Washington townships, adding 1% of the city fire budget for 2027. City leaders say the change helps township customers pay closer to their share of costs, after decades of stagnant rates, and shared updated run statistics and current contract amounts for each township.
