Catholic Charities in the Diocese of Gary and Archdiocese of Chicago will use the funds for food, clothing, housing help, and other essentials as thousands still struggle without power and begin rebuilding.

They want public hearings held in affected communities, mandatory testimony from NIPSCO, and potential new laws to prevent similar prolonged outages.
