Local Habitat for Humanity affiliates join initiative to build 126 homes with $4.1M in READI 2.0 funding (abc57.com) — Elkhart residents could see 36 new Habitat for Humanity homes, including 22 on the city's north side off C.R. 15 and 14 in the Homer Avenue neighborhood. Backed by $4.1 million in READI 2.0 funds through the South Bend-Elkhart Regional Partnership, the tri-county initiative aims to expand affordable workforce homeownership across Elkhart, St. Joseph, and Marshall counties in phases.
2. Video: Yakym Visits Forest River in 'Hoosier Heartland' Tour (rvbusiness.com) — Congressman Rudy Yakym stopped in Elkhart to tour Forest River's facilities and talk directly with local RV workers and company leaders. He highlighted a new tax package, including the Working Families Tax Cut and full interest deductibility for RV dealers, saying those provisions are meant to support the RV industry that anchors much of Elkhart's economy.
