CenterPoint: Heating Bills May Go Down (wnin.org) — Evansville households could see slightly lower natural gas heating bills this winter, with CenterPoint projecting about nine dollars less per month thanks to lower fuel costs. Residents at or below 60% of state median income can already apply for help through the Community Action Program of Evansville, offering an important safety net after years of rate increases.
   

2. Giraffe set to leave Mesker Park Zoo (tristatehomepage.com) — Mesker Park Zoo in Evansville is preparing to say goodbye to Clementine, a popular female giraffe being moved under a national conservation breeding plan. In her place, a non-breeding male giraffe will arrive later this month, undergo quarantine, and eventually join Kijana in the giraffe habitat, keeping the exhibit active for local visitors.
   

3. Felon fires gun multiple times inside Evansville home, police say (14news.com) — Evansville police say a convicted felon was arrested after allegedly firing multiple shots inside a South Governor Street home early Friday, with a teenager present and one bullet traveling through several rooms into a vacant house next door. Officers report finding five shell casings and closet bullet holes before booking the 41-year-old suspect into the Vanderburgh County Jail on several felony charges.
   

4. Annual Wisdom Day hosted in Vincennes for North Deanery (evdiomessage.org) — Older adults from across the Diocese of Evansville recently gathered in Vincennes for North Deanery Wisdom Day, a faith-filled celebration for Catholics 55 and older. Speakers, including Bishop Joseph Siegel and local leaders, encouraged attendees to embrace their lifelong experience as "seasoned disciples" and continue sharing their wisdom and faith in their parishes and communities.
   

5. USI Volleyball sweeps Morehead State, on Saturday (14news.com) — USI volleyball fans in Evansville can celebrate a straight-sets home win over Morehead State during the program's annual Breast Cancer Awareness Pink Out match, evening the Screaming Eagles' Ohio Valley Conference record. Strong blocking, balanced hitting, and standout defense carried USI, which now turns its attention to a key road series at conference leader Lindenwood University next weekend.
