Life Time Gym Bans Cable News From Clubs, Including Indy Spots

Life Time Fitness posts decision to ban cable news from all big screen televisions: More

FISHERS, IN -- Life Time, a fitness club with locations in the Indianapolis area, recently announced it's banning cable news stations from its clubs' big screen televisions. Life Time posted a message on its Twitter page with an explanation for this change. The post was prefaced with "Our perspective on the recent tv programming change in our clubs."

"The decision to remove the national cable network news stations resulted from significant member feedback received over time and our commitment to provide family-oriented environments free of consistently negative of politically charged content," the Twitter post reads.

The big-screen TVs at all clubs will now air "USA, A&E, Discovery and HGTV, in addition to local stations and ESPN," spokeswoman Natalie Bushaw told the St. Paul Pioneer Press. The smaller tcs on workout machines will still air cable news.
