University Park RHC Invites Community to Support Donation Drive Through August 10

Donations Will Be Accepted at Skilled Nursing Facility Through August 10 

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (July 29, 2026)University Park Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, in Fort Wayne, is hosting a community donation drive to benefit local neighbors and schools in need. It will run through Monday, August 10.

To donate, community members can drop off donation items at University Park Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, at 1400 Medical Park Drive, in Fort Wayne. A drop box is available in the lobby, and donations will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Monday, August 10. A prize drawing will take place for individuals who participate in the drive.

The community is asked to donate the following items:  

  • Backpacks 
  • Notebooks
  • Pencils 
  • Crayons 
  • Folders 
  • Non-perishable food items
  • Other classroom essentials 

“We are proud to host opportunities that encourage community engagement and foster meaningful connections,” said Tommi Jo Pruitt, executive director of University Park. “This fundraising effort is a chance for people to come together, support an important cause, and make a positive impact in our region. Through initiatives like this, we seek to strengthen relationships and create lasting benefits for our residents and our neighbors.”

University Park Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center hosts a variety of community events throughout the year to engage with neighbors and residents in Fort Wayne and the surrounding communities. Popular annual traditions include visits by the Easter Bunny, Halloween trunk-or-treat, and holiday light displays.
