• Urban Green Governance Climate Fellow Begins (cityoflawrence.org) — A Greencastle native, Taylor Stout, has been selected as a McKinney Climate Fellow and is helping the City of Lawrence create its first Urban Forest Master Plan this summer. Stout, an IU graduate passionate about people and nature, will work with local parks staff and a resident task force to guide tree-planting and green-space decisions aimed at improving health and sustainability.
   

• Softball Game Preview: Southmont Mounties vs. Tecumseh Braves (maxpreps.com) — Southmont’s softball team heads into Saturday’s 1 p.m. showdown with Tecumseh on a six-game win streak that includes a recent playoff victory over Monrovia. Pitcher-hitter standout Ella Barry has been dominant, striking out at least seven batters in 20 straight appearances, including 10 against Greencastle, while Tecumseh arrives even hotter after an 18–0 rout of Sullivan.
