Semi-trucks could be banned on Sheek Road in Greenwood (dailyjournal.net) — Semi-trucks may soon be banned from Sheek Road as Greenwood City Council considers an ordinance prompted by safety concerns from a local resident. With homes, Ray Crowe Elementary, and Greenwood Bible Baptist Church along the route, officials are weighing whether heavy truck traffic should be shifted to Worthsville Road instead, with a final vote possible by May 18.

Thieves target dozens of vehicles in Franklin Township and Greenwood (wishtv.com) — Police say a crew shattered windows and broke into dozens of vehicles in Greenwood and Franklin Township over the weekend, and investigators believe at least one suspect was armed. Southeast-side neighborhoods, including newer subdivisions, are rattled and turning to security cameras while IMPD’s Southeast District asks residents to share any doorbell or surveillance footage from Saturday night into Sunday morning.
