The honor recognizes his decades of directing choirs, expanding training programs, and helping modernize resources that directly benefit congregations, including worshippers right here in Hammond.

Chicago cops had 'only one option' before fatally shooting gunman, COPA finds (cwbchicago.com) — Chicago's police accountability agency has ruled that two Chicago officers were justified in using deadly force against an armed man who crashed and was shot in Hammond after a short cross-border chase. The report details how the suspect allegedly pointed a gun at officers near railroad tracks in Hammond before being fatally shot, and explains why investigators concluded they had no reasonable alternative.
