• EPA Begins Lead Cleanup at Former Friction Materials Site in Huntington, Indiana (epa.gov) — Federal crews have begun a 60-day cleanup of lead-contaminated soil at the former Friction Materials plant on East Sabine Street in Huntington, aiming to remove polluted dirt and backfill with clean soil. EPA will monitor air quality, secure the 11.7-acre site, and haul waste to an approved facility, following earlier cleanups at nearby homes and highly contaminated areas. 
• Huntington to Hollywood: Student-led film premiers, wins award in L.A. (wane.com) — Huntington University students have turned their hometown into a movie set, creating the feature film "Seniors" with hundreds of local extras and downtown streets closed for a big prank scene. After premiering on the red carpet in Los Angeles and winning a grand jury prize, the film will screen at Heartland Film Festival Oct. 9 and open in local theaters Oct. 23.
