260 lbs Of Marijuana Hidden In Lettuce Found During Traffic Stop
Indiana State Police trooper noticed criminal indicators before searching and finding the estimated $1 million in marijuana.
PUTNAM COUNTY, IN — Just two days after Indiana State Police found 30 pounds of marijuana during a Porter County traffic stop, a state trooper discovered nearly nine times that amount in a tractor-trailer Wednesday morning. State police said a tractor-trailer traveling eastbound on I-70 was stopped for a routine vehicle inspection near the 41 mile marker, during which the Trooper noticed signs of criminal behavior. According to state police, the search led to the discovery of 260 pounds of marijuana hidden in fresh lettuce, which was being transported from Colorado to Florida.
The street value of this amount? Estimated at $1 million.

The driver and passenger, both from Florida, were each charged with dealing marijuana, a felony. Jorge Blanco-Diaz, 33, of Miami, and Adan Labanino Delacruz, 40, of Cutler Bay, were taken into custody and are being held in the Putnam County Jail.
