1. Indy near eastside town hall to cover environmental issues (mirrorindy.org) — Near eastside Indianapolis neighbors can weigh in on local environmental concerns at the NESCO Environmental Town Hall on Sept. 24, 6-8 p.m., at Englewood Christian Church on Rural Street. You'll hear about air quality, clean water, and litter, and can talk directly with groups like Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, White River Alliance, and the Marion County Public Health Department—no registration or fee required.
2. Indianapolis tech firm Overfuel lands $6M investment (insideindianabusiness.com) — An Indianapolis-based tech startup, Overfuel Inc., has secured $6 million in new growth funding that will fuel AI-driven product development and local hiring. Founded by several familiar Indy tech veterans, the company builds software that helps auto and powersports dealers streamline their websites and better understand customers, strengthening the city's growing technology and automotive retail ecosystem.
3. Counseling center offers free support after mid-August floods in Indiana (wishtv.com) — If you were shaken by the recent central Indiana floods, a counseling center at Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis is offering up to five free sessions through the end of 2026. Residents can meet counselors in person on West 42nd Street or connect via telehealth anywhere in Indiana to process stress, anxiety, or lingering emotions from the disaster.
4. PRI Launches NextGen Connect for Young Motorsports Professionals (enginebuildermag.com) — Indianapolis will host the 2026 PRI Show Dec. 10–12 at the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium, featuring the new NextGen Connect hub for students and young motorsports professionals. Locals interested in racing careers can attend seminars, resume reviews, networking events, and a keynote breakfast while connecting with hundreds of companies from across the industry.
5. LANDMARK RULINGS: Indiana cases heard by U.S. Supreme Court examined in Constitution Day event (indianacitizen.org) — Indianapolis residents got a front-row look at how local legal disputes, including a major case over the city's sewer assessments, ended up shaping U.S. Supreme Court precedent. At IU McKinney's Constitution Day event, judges and attorneys with Indianapolis ties unpacked landmark rulings on voter ID, criminal defendants' rights, and a tax fight involving the city's Board of Public Works, highlighting how national law can grow from Hoosier cases.
