Former Colt Edgerrin James Chosen As 2018 Hall Of Fame Finalist
James among the finalists that the Hall Of Fame's board of directors will select from Feb. 3 during Super Bowl LII weekend in Minneapolis.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — While many anticipate who will be the winning NFL team of Super Bowl LII on Feb. 4, others are waiting to see who will be chosen for The Pro Football Hall of Fame's class of 2018, as Indianapolis Colts Running Back Edgerrin James is among the 15 modern-era finalists. The Pro Football Hall of Fame's class of 2018 will be chosen by the Hall's board of selectors on Feb. 3 during Super Bowl LII weekend in Minneapolis, Minnesota, ESPN reports. According to ESPN, James is one of the finalists who've been in this position before, while there are a number of other players in their first year of eligibility.
Terrell Owens and Ronde Barber join James as players who've been finalists before, while Randy Moss and Ray Lewis are in their first-year of eligibility, ESPN reports.
Up to five modern-era finalists can be chosen for the Hall's 2018 class in addition to this year's seniors nominees, Robert Brazile and Jerry Kramer, to go with the contributors nominee Bobby Beathard.

ESPN reports the board of selectors will trim the list of modern-era finalists to 10 and then to five at a meeting on Feb. 3, the day before the big game, choosing the five finalists on a yes-or-no basis.
However, the contributor and seniors nominees are voted on separately from the modern-era finalists on a yes-or-no basis.

The finalists for the class of 2018 - Modern-era finalists:
- Edgerrin James: Running back, 1999-2005, Indianapolis Colts; 2006-2008 Arizona Cardinals; 2009, Seattle Seahawks. ESPN reports he was the league's rushing champion twice, and he reached 10,000 scrimmage yards faster than any player in history. In addition to his rushing totals, he had five seasons with at least 51 catches.

- Tony Boselli: Tackle, 1995-2001, Jacksonville Jaguars
