Free Health Screenings, Immunizations Coming to Indianapolis-Area Walmart Stores This Saturday

Get back-to-school shots and free health screenings done in one stop, no appointment required.

Back-to-school season means a lot of things for Central Indiana families: supply lists, new schedules, and for many, a scramble to get immunizations and physicals squared away before the first bell. This Saturday, July 25, Walmart is aiming to make that a little easier with its annual Walmart Wellness Day, a free health event happening at Walmart stores and Vision Centers across the Indianapolis area, including locations in Marion, Johnson, Hamilton, Hendricks and Boone counties.

Shoppers can stop by for free health screenings, including blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol and body mass index checks. Vision screenings will also be available at select locations.

Walmart pharmacists will be on hand throughout the event for one-on-one consultations, answering questions about everything from vaccine timing to medication management. Affordable immunizations will also be available, a helpful option for families checking required school shots off the list before classes start.

For anyone curious about weight management, pharmacists will have information and resources on GLP-1 medications and can help point shoppers toward the right next steps.

It's a low-key, no-pressure way to take care of a few health basics while running the usual weekend errands, and it's free. Given rising grocery and household costs, it's also a chance to catch potential health issues early without an added expense.
