IMPD And ISP To Conduct Labor Day Weekend Sobriety Checkpoint

Indiana State Police: Other checkpoint locations, and what motorists can do to make the process run shorter, smoother for all.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Labor Day Weekend is upon us, and Indiana State Police are working to keep the roads safe, preparing to conduct a sobriety checkpoint in Marion County Sunday, Sept. 3, according to a release. The checkpoint will take place during the evening hours in conjunction with the Operation Pull Over Period Blitz #91, "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over," ISP reports. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department will partner with ISP for Sunday's checkpoint. There will be sobriety checkpoints and saturation patrols looking for impaired and dangerous motorists.

ISP and IMPD are part of 250 state-wide law enforcement agencies participating in the annual Operation Pull Over campaign which kicked off Aug. 11 and runs through Sept. 4, ISP reports.

ISP also reports troopers from the Indiana State Police Bloomington Post will be conducting a sobriety check point at an "undisclosed location in Monroe County" on Sunday, Sept. 3.
