Indiana Teens Hospitalized After Ingesting THC-Filled Gummy Bears

The 11 teenagers complained of rapid heart rate, blurred vision, in addition to some hallucinating from ingredient found in marijuana.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - It's another case of gummy bears gone wrong, this time in the Hoosier state.

11 teenagers in La Porte County are in the hospital after eating a batch of gummy bears containing THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), an ingredient found in marijuana, WGN-TV reports.

Police found a 19-year-old male on the side of the road after being dispatched to the 5200 N block of County Road 325 W on a call for medical help, according to the Chicago news channel.

The teen reportedly asked to be taken to the emergency room as he claimed he and his friends ingested gummy bears containing an unknown drug.

WGN-TV reports police located 10 teenagers, all 18 or 19 years old, in a nearby home, all complaining of symptoms including rapid heart rate, blurred vision, and some with hallucinations.

Police were able to determine the six males and five females each ingested one-half of a THC-laced gummy bear.
