Indianapolis Mayor Outlaws Goaltending After LeBron's Game 5 Move

After NBA refs didn't call LeBron James for goaltending against Oladipo during Wednesday's game, Mayor Hogsett did this about the no-call:

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- One day after ESPN said the NBA confirmed LeBron James committed a goaltending infraction on Victor Oladipo's layup during the Cavaliers and Pacers Game 5, Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett is making it his mission t0 make sure that move remains against the rules. With Game 6 of the conference's first-round playoff series happening Friday night in Indianapolis, Pacers fans are still frustrated over Wednesday's goaltending which took place just seconds before James hit a game-winning 3-point buzzer-beater, giving the Cavs a 3-2 series lead.

Mayor Hogsett took matters into his own hands Thursday, first tweeting that he was declaring Friday, April 27 as "Blue and Gold Day," in the city, encouraging all fans to wear their lucky Pacers gear or colors. But right after that tweet was posted, Mayor Hogsett wrote, "Oh — one more thing. By executive order, I am proud to outlaw goaltending in the City of Indianapolis... for every player, on every team."

Yes, the proclaimed executive order can be seen on the mayor's Twitter account, so it's official, (aka don't come to Indianapolis if you're not going to follow NBA rules).

Let's hope there's a better outcome Friday.

Tip off is set for 8 p.m. Friday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

The best of seven games wins this series and heads to the Eastern Conference Semifinals, therefore the Pacers need a win tonight in order to tie the series at 3-3.
