New Nonstop Allegiant Flights From Indy To Sarasota, Charleston

New Allegiant Airlines flights to Sarasota and Charleston push Indy Airport's record to 51 nonstop destinations: More

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis International Airport (IND) has announced the start of a "record-breaking year" thanks to Allegiant Air's exciting news Tuesday that it will start offering nonstop flights to Charleston, South Carolina and Sarasota Florida beginning in April. Even better, IND says both routes are new destinations that aren't yet being flown by other airlines. This brings IND's total nonstop destination counts to an all-time high of 51, the airport says, which is higher than records set in 2005 and tied in 2017.

“This is a prime example of why the Indianapolis International Airport is one of the most connected midsize airports in North America,” Mario Rodriguez, executive director of the Indianapolis Airport Authority, said in a release. “Since 2014, we’ve added 40 nonstop flights. That’s public value expressed in hard numbers –but realized tangibly in more people connecting to significantly more places from Indy.”

Fliers should note that Allegiant's Indianapolis to Sarasota flight will operate all year, and the nonstop flight from IND to Charleston will fly seasonally. However, both routes will depart IND twice per week, once the Charleston flight takes off April 6 and the Sarasota non-stop route begins April 11.
