Roncalli Principal Apologizes After Using N-Word During Assembly

Reports said Chuck Weisenbach claims he used the N-word while discussing language not tolerated at school with students.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Roncalli High School Principal Chuck Weisenbach made a public apology on Friday after he said he used the N-word at an assembly. According to WTHR, Weisenbach sent an audio message to parents Friday in which he said he used the N-word while discussing language not tolerated at school with students.

WTHR said in the message, Weisenbach said he made a "significant mistake" and apologized, asking for "grace and forgiveness."

WTHR posted the audio clip of the phone message, in which the principal said, "Today during an all-school assembly, I made a significant mistake which I deeply regret. While discussing the importance of empathy with our students, I provided examples of words that should never be tolerated. Among the list of words and phrases was the N-word. I in no way used the word in a derogatory fashion but instead to illustrate its ugliness. I sincerely apologize for the offense or hurt even hearing the word may have caused."
